Enrolling in Work Study
Before you can enroll in work study, you must complete the following:
- Fill out Work Study Contract Form
- Sign State of Michigan Work Study paperwork
- Make sure that you are enrolled in a related course at Whitmore Lake
- Print out a copy of your EDP - you must be working at a place that aligns with your career goals
- Complete a safety training
- Ms. Taylor needs to approve the place of work through visit to make sure it is a safe place for you to work and that they understand youth employment laws.

Once you are Enrolled
If taking one hour of Work Study, you must work an average of 10 hours (unless an unpaid position, then we will create learning goals)
If taking two hours of Work Study, you must work an average of 20 hours (see above)
You must submit time cards to me at the very least every two weeks. You will receive credit for each time card submitted that shows you successfully worked the required number of hours. Submit a copy of your time cards by following this link:
You must be passing your related course at Whitmore Lake or you will receive no credit for work study
You must complete 3 assignments during the course of this class. These assignments will be work related.
You must have your employer do at least 2 assessments of your work during the semester. These will be used to calculate your grade.
